Construction Project Manager

Perform or direct the performance of:

  • Manage daily activities related to ongoing Logix Fiber Networks ISP and OSP fiber installation projects
  • Provide detailed project status reports to management and construction department as requested
  • Manhole, hand hole and conduit system design and construction experience is preferred
  • Inform management of any construction delays or road-blocks, and propose creative solutions to any problems with projects being worked
  • Bring project related damages to management’s attention immediately
  • Dispatch as needed to damaged Logix fiber locations and coordinate repairs with fiber engineer
  • Ensure all jobsite safety requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Direct and assist contractors and 3rd party contractors as needed
  • Confirm all building penetrations are sealed and weatherproofed as needed
  • Confirm and inspect all work completed by contractors matches as-built
  • Confirm all materials are removed from the jobsite and landscaping is all returned to the same or better condition
  • Create feasible fiber routes, and read fiber schematics and fiber splicing schemes
  • Must be able to interface well with property managers, contractors, customers and co-workers
  • Must be able to maintain inventory and database records
  • Meets and exceeds team member expectations by providing service and department teamwork;
  • Provides value added service to customers by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations;
  • Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed;
  • Communicates effectively with customers, co-workers and management;
  • Performs other duties as required to provide excellent service and teamwork;
  • Adheres to policies and procedures;
  • Attends work on time as scheduled;
  • Required to call in to report an absence no less than two hours prior to the start of the shift by contacting the supervisor directly and stating reason for absence;
  • Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Performs other duties clerical, proofreading, special Business projects from time to time as requested by the department head or as business needs dictates

  • Must be able to learn all aspects of the job by on-the-job training for the position

  • Must have a good comprehension of telephone etiquette and office protocol
  • Must have good organizational and coordinating skills

  • Must have working knowledge in OSP Insight
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license. Must have a responsible driving record
  • Travel to job sites as needed
  • Must have basic computer knowledge/skills

EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Five-year telecommunication experience in engineering and outside plant.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen effectively. This position requires long periods of sitting, walking and standing as well as climbing ladders of various heights. Employee may be subjected to heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. Uses of both spoken and written English are a must. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to see colors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Maintain forty (40) hours per week performance level, plus additional hours as job requires, with one (1) hour each day unpaid lunch break.This work environment entails being subjected to seasonal temperature changes. Employee is also exposed to various types of insects, snakes and spiders. Employee is sometimes required to work in unsavory working conditions.
