Job Summary:
The Transport Facilities Engineer is a central figure in maintaining the functionality and safety of the facility, acting as the primary contact for building issues, emergencies, and repairs. They oversee contractor performance, manage projects of varying scales, and assist in budget preparation. Their responsibilities span a wide range of tasks including building security, minor repairs, electrical work, furniture installation, and equipment transportation. They collaborate with various departments to meet office requirements and ensure a clean and organized work environment. Overall, their role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and meeting the needs of the campus or district.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Acts as the primary contact for all personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)
- Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications to include janitorial.
- May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
- Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
- Assists the Facilities Director in preparing the annual maintenance budget
- Solicits bids and quotes from vendors
- Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
- Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary. Determines when a plumber is required.
- Coordinates and assists with departmental and employee moves, including event setup and tear down.
- Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required
- Hangs pictures, shelving, etc.... To meet Campus needs.
- Dismantle and install furniture
- Transports goods or equipment as assigned
- Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility. Assist Custodial Crew when needed to benefit the campus.
- Coordinates with sales engineers, network engineers, and Service Delivery Installation Coordinators on the installation of cabinets, power, and hardware as needed for datacenter customers
- Acts as the primary contact for any building issues, emergencies, and repairs
- Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
- May act as the project coordinator for all size projects including large scale repair and new facility construction projects
- Assists with maintaining building security and works with the NOC to immediately respond to building emergencies and alarms on a 24/7 basis
- Assists the Facilities Director in preparing the annual maintenance budget
- Solicits bids and quotes from vendors as needed
- Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrical contractor is required
- Provides site access support for all new and existing datacenter customers
- Transports goods or equipment as assigned
- Assists other Logix departments with office requirements including but not limited to Field Services, Provisioning, NOC, Voice Operations, IPENG, Network Engineering, Central Office Technicians, and other group technicians.
- Performs cleaning duties as necessary to maintain a neat and safe work environment
- Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments
- Performs various other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Director

- Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes preparation of outgoing packages, return shipments and receipt of related deliveries (i.e. Supplies, purchases, and equipment). This may also require managing large possibly heavy parcels. Incoming shipments are to be confirmed upon receipt, and delivered to the appropriate party
- All other Duties as assigned to fit Campus or District needs.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED (preferred college degree in telecommunications).
- 4 years industry experience with 2 years of computer/database experience.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate by typing, reading, talking, and listening effectively. The employee will be required to work for extended periods of time at a desk on a computer and must be able to maneuver through office spaces as needed.
